Piezo Motion is pleased to announce the commercial release of closed-loop control systems of its popular range of high-performance injection-molded piezo motors. The initial closed-loop models available include, linear piezo motor Model #’s; LPM-2M and LPM-5 and rotary Model #’s; PM-1124R- HS and PM-1124- SS. Additional closed-loop systems are planned for release later this year.

In the closed-loop system, motion control of the piezo motor is achieved via feedback generated from an optical encoder integrated within the motor assembly. Encoder communication electronics consists of a daughter board (pcb) with a serial (RS-232) port, mounted onto the main driver board. Optional programmable logic control (PLC) software with graphical user interface (GUI) enables control of the motor using standard Windows OS.
